Vice President (VP), Underwriter Construction Casualty
We are seeking an experienced AVP Underwriter to lead underwriting and account management for large construction casualty business. This role blends technical expertise, relationship management, and strategic sales execution to drive profitable growth. *Must reside in Midwest or West Coast
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and renewal submissions, identifying exposures and structuring tailored loss-sensitive construction programs
- Analyze risk, pricing, and coverage terms; develop and present competitive proposals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers in assigned territory
- Drive new business through strategic positioning and pipeline development
Qualifications
- 5+ years of underwriting construction industry segments required
- Strong knowledge of General Liability, W/C, and Auto coverages required
- Expertise in loss-sensitive programs, pricing, and risk analysis required
- Retail brokerage network base in local territory required
- Bachelor’s degree required; CPCU or similar designation preferred
